3 days and a morning...

Yes, we're getting our puppy in 3 days and a morning! We went back to see them on Sunday, and you could hardly recognize them! They were noisy, active, playful, and they chewed everything because their teeth were coming through. They were soooo funny, bouncing around like little furry lunatics. it was great watching them feed- they ran over, pushing and shoving their way in. Of course, Scrappy, the runt, had a hard time with pushing in past the bigger puppies, but he lives up to his name! This time he decided a quick crawl up the puppies surrounding him and then a head first dive into the food bowl from the top of one of the other puppy's heads would do the trick.

All the puppies had suddenley changed. Splott, Jessie's favourite and possibly the craziest of the lot, has turned into a calm, quiet and sweet puppy. Bramble is probably the prettiest with the most brown, but she's not particularly affectionate although she will have a bit of a snuggle. Scrappy has a big personality and despite his endearing craziness when on the ground, he loves to be held, played with, and he likes to snuggle up to people. Bengo (the only boy) and Lilly are both quiet, affectionate and calm, but, like Splott, big. Our two favourites at the moment are Scrappy and Bramble, Mum and I prefer Scrappy at the moment.

We let the puppies out of their little, um, "room" in the barn to let them have a play in the rest of the barn. They kept escaping under the gate and were really funny. We went to visit them again when it was getting asleep, and Splott and Lilly curled up and went to sleep on my lap! The garden's been doggy-proofed and everyone's very excited.

They sound wonderful. I'm sure you're going to have great fun with a new puppy. Just make sure you keep anything you don't want chewed on off the floor!

Hi. I'm so excited to hear about your new family addition. Please send me some pictures of your new pup with all of you. Be prepared for lots of puppy fun and also some mishaps. Border collies are so smart I bet your pup will be trained quickly. Good luck!!!
